REPEATERS FOR THE EVENT
There will be at least 2 repeaters assigned for the marathon use. The frequencies will be announced in a "broadcast email" to all volunteer operators prior to the marathon. One of these repeaters will be designed as the "Primary Tactical Repeater." Another repeater will be designated as the "Secondary Repeater," among other duties, accept runner "Drop-out" information and return those stations back to the "Primary Frequency."
Net Control Operation
Primary Net Control, which will operate the Primary frequency will handle the majority of event radio traffic and will be located near the finish line. The Secondary Net Control will have the main duty of operating the Drop-out Net which is designated to handle the information for runners leaving the course prior to completing the race and who also may need medical attention or evacuation. The Secondary Net is also located near the finish line.
Note: these nets are directed nets and managed by the Net Control operators.
